Since you have so much free time you should go just hang out at the mall or go to a Smithsonian... they are amazing. I don't know if you've talked to pearce, but the best view of the City is from the top of the Old Post office Tower (right across the street from the FBI building) and then you HAVE to go to Arlington... the view from the Arlington House (Lee's wife's family home) is amazing... THE BEST view of the city. Pearce and I pretty much just spent an afternoon up there ... just beautiful.
