Merry Christmas Everyone!
Hey, I am just shooting out an e-mail to everyone giving you a little update on me and my new e-mail address.
Things out in Washington D.C. are winding down and I will be heading home on December 15th. It has been a really great experience out here, I have made a ton of work contacts, and a ton of great life long friends. I actually am going to go broke just trying to travel to see some of them. The one great thing is that half of my friends all live in Puerto Rico so they will all just have to deal with coming to where I am. I don’t think they will mind because the longest it takes to get anywhere there is about 3 hours.
While I was out in D.C. I worked for Interpol. Interpol is an international police force that is located in 188 of the 191 countries in the world. The Interpol office is located in every countries capital, except for France because the Interpol Headquarters is in Leon France, so they have the office in Paris. At Interpol I have gotten to work some cases and do a lot of police work as a intern. The police work I do though is more paper work then hands on. Actually I did not do any hands on I just did paper work, but there are Agents such as FBI, DEA, FDA etc. agents there that work with us directly and they sometimes get to travel to get the convict and bring them to the US.
Now that I am done, I will be coming back home for a few months awaiting replies to applications I have sent out to agencies in D.C and working to save up money to start paying off good ole student loans.
I would really love to have a job at Interpol and I have an application in. The earliest they could have be back there to work would be early April because of the extensive background check they have to do. I had Secret Clearance as an Intern but I have to have Top Secret to work there full time. I have heard that quickest they can get the background check is 90 days and the longest they have seen is over 6 months. So that is along time of not knowing but I am still hopeful.
I am still with my same boyfriend Trent Mordhorst, from Ute, Iowa. He will be graduating in May from Buena Vista also. I graduate in December but I don’t get to walk until May, so we will get to walk together. As for now we are trying to shuffle our options in hopes of ending up in the same place. It is complicated with me not knowing if I for sure will have a job and also with the background check varying in months.
Anyway, now that I have written a book I just wanted to let you know that my new e-mail address will be gundali@usa.com I will be losing my BVU address sometime soon so I am switching over to my new e-mail now to make it easier because I will be giving my computer back to BV also when I get back. So if you could switch whatever e-mail you had before to gundali@usa.com that would be great. If you have my hotmail account of have me on MSN I will still use the MSN but I won’t be using the e-mail anymore.
Also I wanted to wish everyone Happy Holiday’s. I will be home for the holidays and I can’t wait to come home and see everyone, but I wanted to update everyone before I got home and got busy.
Also thanks again everyone for your support while I was in DC. It was great knowing that I had everyone to back me up. Take care and have a great holiday season!!
Love
Ali
P.S. If you have questions about what I did at work more in depth I am willing to tell you what I can I just wanted to keep this e-mail somewhat short!!
