Finding our way around

I GOT MY FINGER PRINTS DONE!! Yay for Lena’s dad and him being willing to walk around and call around and ask everyone all these questions. He got my finger printing lined up for today and got me there and got them done. It cost $20 but it is all over with now and now all I am waiting on is a phone call for when I can drop it all off and then they will be searching my background…:D
Then today was a find our way around day. We had to go to the Washington Center up by Dupont Circle to talk to our advisors and I had to figure out what I will be doing while I am waiting for my security clearance. They have a whole week planned out for us while we cant work because we don’t have clearance!! It should be interesting. I will let you know who I get to see and where I get to visit as it comes along to hopefully hold some suspense so that you will keep reading. I get to hear some cool people and visit cool places.
After the Washington Center stuff we came back to our room and went to TARGET …YES they have a target and I am excited…I knew they would just didn’t know it would be like close to me. But we got Internet so that I don’t have to steal it anymore from somewhere. Not sure where because I just realized that we live on the corner of the apartment and no one is against the wall where we were picking up internet signal from. But now we have our own internet and it wasn’t that expensive so that works for me. But this target was awesome it had an escalator for your cart…ha ha yeah I have only seen that now in DC and Cali….wow. Then we came back to our room and hung out after Lena’s parents left.
After we were so hungry that we thought we were going to die and Lena had eaten the house out of food and was still hungry mom her and I went to the metro and found where I was going to work. Only 2 blocks from the Metro a 45 min trip with no traffic, and then we found where we have to go tomorrow. And from where we have to go tomorrow we found our way to Dupont circle with no map :D all because I remembered where I was at and streets and the horses butt…long story but it was a land mark that I remembered!!
Then we went out to eat at Johnny Rockets. That was fun because I actually remembered where I was going from when I was out here in January! After this we went and got on the Metro come to find out 3 stops later that we were going the wrong way. MY BAD….haha we were chatting away and we got on the wrong side of the metro. Easy fix, just annoying since I had done so well all day. Then we came back to our Apartment to go and wish one of our new friends happy 21st b-day. It was a sad party because he wasn’t doing much but tomorrow will be better for him!
We have mandatory meetings all day tomorrow from 9 am until 3 pm. Woo hoo but I will get my id card tomorrow and all my info for next week and then my work also.
But that is what we did today and what my plan is for tomorrow! Until Later…Peace out!!
