Hey Everyone,
I am e-mailing you all to update you on my life as it is now. I recently moved out to Washington DC to work at Interpol the place I did my internship. I am back as a Federal Contractor working for Interpol. I was offered the job in the middle of June and it took about 5 weeks and I was ready to move out to DC.
I flew out to DC on the 1st of August with no apartment and no prospects of an apartment.. I have a wonderful friend that took me in for my first week out here so that I could have a place to sleep while I went out and searched for apartments. By Tuesday the 5th I had a good idea of where I wanted to live and I applied for the apartment. On Thursday the 7th I signed my very first apartment lease ever. It is so crazy that I am actually an adult now having to figure out how to pay all of my own bills. Anyway I moved my 4 bags into my apartment on that Thursday and then went shopping at Target for some supplies for my kitchen. Then on Friday the 8th I put everything away. As of right now and actually until the 29th I have no Internet and no cable which is why it has taken me so long to get an e-mail update out.
Anyway I started work on the 11th of August and I have already had my first week of work come and gone. Right now I am just doing a lot of paper work and tests to become certified in the programs they have in their computer systems to run cases. What I am going to be doing there is actually having my own cases and starting up new cases and trying to close out old ones of find the people that are wanted. When there is a match or a hit on a passport and it is my case then the people in the command center will get everyone working together to get the wanted person extradited and then I hopefully get to close out my case.
As of right now things are going well and I am just going to work everyday like an adult and trying to get my life all together and organized in DC. So far things are going really well because people have been so generous and helpful towards me and I appreciate it tons.
I am living back in the apartment complex I was in when I was in DC before for my internship. The area is great and very safe which is what I wanted and it is beautiful area. It is about a 25 min trip on the metro to work every morning which isn’t bad because it gives me time to prepare for work and then on the way home wind down from work.
Anyway I would love to hear from all of you at sometime but just remember I won’t be able to really get back to many of you until after I have Internet on the 29th.
Take care everyone!
Much Love,
Ali Gunderson
P.S. Some of you might get phone calls from a personal investigator because I am going for top secret clearance and they are trying to talk to as many people as possible about me. So just as a pre-warning for you. Take care!
If you want my address comment on this with ur e-mail and I will e-mail it to you!
